I’ve been hard at work trying to get everything in order with Dangerous Dalliances. I can’t wait for everyone to see what I’ve been up to with it. Auspicious Affairs is also coming along rather nicely. Victor is fun to work with, and it feels good to bring the comedy back into the story.
Aside from that, I’m helping a friend of mine with a huge project of her own. And while I was working with her, I had to go through a bunch of my old files. I stumbled on something that I started working on between Tangled Temptations and Precarious Possessions. I reread the file, and fell in love all over again. So hopefully I’ll be able to feel things out and work it into something that you’ll all fall in love with too. I’ll have to keep you all up to date with that project.
Oh, and I’ve also been thinking about taking a few graphics design courses. There are a few free ones, and while I may not get a degree out of it, I’ll be able to work on some of my own covers, and maybe help a few others as well. Again, who knows. 🙂
Anyways, that’s all from me for now
Hi everyone!!! I’m sitting here and thinking about things to do and ideas to write. I am at that dangerous place between books. I’ll try out about 2 or 3 story lines. I’ll go so far as to write prologues for them… I may even get to a chapter 1 or 2, and then something happens that just makes everything fall apart…
Currently, I’m working on Auspicious Affairs (MI 4). But in my head there are 3 other ideas running around. An author with ADD isn’t a good thing LOL. I honestly don’t know how others do it.
I’ll brush over the ideas so you can see how crowded my mind is at this point in time…
- Auspicious Affairs- This is Victor’s book. I don’t want it to become Madison and Troy Take 2, but that just may end up happening to an extent (Once Dangerous Dalliances is in your hands, you’ll understand). I also have to set up a few other characters. Maxwell Investigations is starting to branch out into an entire world.
- Demon’s Prey- The lead in this has been haunting me for years. And I’ve written and rewritten a prologue for this. Anya and Ciel are a couple that are close to my heart, and I’m wrestling with ways to get things right between them. At one point I was even considering the idea to make this a spin-off of the High Council line.
- Demon’s Tango- Like a Tango, Aria and Brae’s book is going back and forth. I kind of painted myself in a corner with this Dragon’s Awakening, and now I have to take the time and make sure that I treat the situation with the respect it deserves.
- An Untitled Steampunk Romance- Yes, it always seems as if I have 1 untitled project. Between Precarious Possessions and Dangerous Dalliances, it was Demon’s Prey. Who knows what this one is going to be. I don’t even know how far I’m going to get with it. But here’s hoping 🙂
Doesn’t that seem like a lot??? And I won’t even start on my adventures (misadventures) of going to the Frederick Book Festival with my daughter over the weekend. We had an awesome time. I can’t wait to go back next year! And next year I’m going to have my own table. I just have to try to raise some funds first.
Which is another thing that I’m doing. I’ve been trying to work on my marketing and found that I can get an account and raise some funds by accepting Donations. I don’t know how long I’m going to run it. The funds raised will be used to order pens, book marks and other freebies that I’ll have at my table next year. Here’s the link:
Thanks in advance for your support!! This makes me a happy chibi….
And that’s gonna be all from me today. I’ll check back and let you all know what’s doing. Till then….
(I found the dancing kitty on google. I own no part of her…)
Today I’m feeling kind of odd. Not bad, not great, just… like another piece of my life is changing. Today I woke up, got my daughter off to school, and as I sit here checking my emails, looking for another job something just felt weird to me.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s ever felt this way. But it really didn’t hit me until I went about my daily ritual of checking my favorite webcomic. Last year, it was announced that Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire was going to end. I was prepared for it, I am braced for it, but it didn’t really hit me until today… In just over 2 weeks, something that I’ve enjoyed for TEN YEARS will be over. I’m not knocking Mookie, Dominic’s writer and creator. I understand completely, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
But there have been a few other things around me that have been changing. One of those things is my writing… or I should say story lines. For a while, I was going to link a new story into the High Council universe, but after looking at it yesterday, I’ve decided against it. So I had to revamp that entire line. Dragon’s Awakening has now been reissued in print. The only change for the e-book is the cover. I updated the cover art for the Kindle, I’ll do the Nook later today. I’ve tried to continue with Demon’s Tango. I probably will, but it’s coming slowly. I would rather wait and put out something good, than something that would make you want to hate me.
Maxwell Investigations is also starting to make another turn. It started out as something fun for Tia and I to do. With Precarious Possessions and Dangerous Dalliances the series gets pretty dark. Now that Auspicious Affairs is on the plate, parts of me want to steer it back to light and fun, while other parts of me want to make it darker and more action based as well. And this isn’t even including the fact that more characters are peeking in and they want their time to shine as well.
So, this is where I’m at for the moment. I don’t know what the future holds for any of my series. I’ll keep you all posted about what I’m working on, but until then we all just have to sit back and watch change happen.
So I have been thinking about this for a good long while. When I wrote Dragon’s Awakening, I’ll confess, I threw everything including the kitchen sink in there. I even took it off sale for a while.
But after some long and hard thinking, I’ve come to another decision about my crazy first series. Last year, I put it back up for Kindle and Nook, but I took it off of Print. With the release of Dangerous Dalliances around the corner, I think it would be kind of fun to revisit Chance and Christobal.
It’s been edited, and the cover has an update. The new print version is also a lot smaller. I’m excited for all of you to see it. Keep an eye out and I’ll post more about it later in the week!!! I’ll have to visit with you all later and let you know it’s live.
I’ll see you all then!!!
